The "AO" series displays blue, turquoise, and azure landscapes from a variety of places. The second shade is the blue of the Fukugi trees and the sky itself in the Bise area.

The Bise neighborhood is well-known for its Fukugi trees, located within walking distance of Churaumi Aquarium. Fukugi is a tree species with gigantic leaves and branches that spread rapidly, therefore it was planted around the property to serve as a windbreak and rainwater collection system. The section of road that connects them transforms into a tunnel-like environment unique to Bise, covered in Fukugi, which locals have inherited and continue to preserve to this day. We designed a property so that you can always experience the sky and nature while viewing Fukugi.

Furthermore, recognizing Okinawa’s limited supply of water, we’ve integrated rainwater collection with advanced filtration, creating a building that has a solid foundation in the local community while also minimizing the environmental impact of water usage, whether for pools or emergency preparedness.

Bise, in northern Okinawa, faces the sea and is within walking distance of Churaumi Aquarium.
It is a famous place where many tourists gather together, and you can sense the nostalgic soul of Okinawa. There are cafes with pleasant atmosphere scattered around the region.
It is also one of Okinawa’s best spots to relax and appreciate nature while sightseeing on foot or by bicycle.

The proposed site is a 10-minute walk from Fukugi Namiki in a peaceful and private area with less tourists, making it an ideal place for individuals looking for an opportunity to unwind in nature.

The fan-shaped building is surrounded by Fukugi trees outside and features an open-air pool inside, creating an atmosphere where you can constantly sense the presence of both the Fukugi and the sky. When privacy is desired, the sound of wind rustling through branches and leaves, and rain tapping against the walls, offers a peaceful background. This space is designed to engage and stimulate all five senses in ways unique to its location.

Each building has windows that face Fukugi trees in various directions, thus the way light interacts and sunlight filters through the greenery gives each building with a distinct appearance.
The premises, surrounded by Fukugi trees, have a delightful breeze and provide year-round comfort, making it an ideal space to spend time in. Consequently, the villa’s interior is accessible through the outdoor space, offering a seamless connection with nature.
In addition, by lifting the terrace half a level and making it a skip floor, it becomes a spacious place that contrasts from the view from the ground, creating the illusion of approaching the Fukugi trees.

The terrace, which is covered by a wide roof, is intended to be a space where you can enjoy various activities such as BBQ and sauna regardless of the weather, and at night it transforms into an amazing space where you are able to observe the stars.

Moreover, in order to collect rainwater efficiently, the roof features a single big curving surface with one side slope that prevents rainfall from escaping to the surface. Rainwater is collected under the roof and utilized as pool water, which is subsequently released to the neighborhood residents in the event of a disaster, showing that the villa takes care not just of the environment but also of the local people.

AO BISE proudly continues the rich legacy of Fukugi passed down by our ancestors, all while embracing the inherent charm of Bise. Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature and indulge in some truly delightful moments. Experience our villa, where sunlight gracefully dances through the forest, inviting you to indulge in its warmth and serenity.
